Children’s Book Project: Caleb & Willie

Caleb and Willie is a children’s picture book brought to life through warm, expressive illustration and character-driven storytelling. I collaborated with author Missy Wetzel to visually interpret the heart of the story, creating illustrations that support its themes of friendship, imagination, and emotional connection.

My role focused on developing the visual world, characters, and narrative flow of the book, ensuring that each illustration reinforced the tone of the story while remaining engaging and accessible for young readers. From early sketches to final artwork, I worked to balance charm, clarity, and consistency across all pages.

The project required sensitivity to pacing, expression, and storytelling rhythm—using body language, color, and composition to help convey emotion and guide the reader through the story.
